Darkness of the Demesne

As I got out of the elevator and slowly crept towards the hotel room we would be staying at wheeling my multi-coloured United Colours of Bentton trunk, I had glimpses of memories that remained embedded in to my head like glass in skin. My sister, Kareth seemed not to have a care in the world as she strolled along side of me and blabbered on excitedly. As we neared our hotel room, the torrents of memories flashing through my head became more and more pronounced. My sister continuing to be oblivious to my distress, hurriedly got out the hotel card key and jabbed it into the insert. *Beep. As Kereth swung the door open, dozens and dozens of memories continued to overflow in my head. Memories of me with my once- alive- brother, Ryan. "Caltaine hurry up! We have to check out the pool after a shower!" my sister chants.I robotically step into the room and stiffly crane my neck in different directions to see the full extent of the room. To be Continued...........

  1. I love your use of specific details for effect. Great descriptive simile and onomatopoeia, too. Yeah, Steph!
